HIDE-ing very negative posts
then
BLOCK-ing people who posts such negative posts
then
UN-FRIENDING such people

I try to be open to a wide range of opinions
and attempt to learn from many perspectives
but too often those who 

ONLY POST NEGATIVE messages

ONLY believe what they believe and will not openly,
objectively discuss how we think or believe differently 

Our current presidential campaign and the horrible mass murders and other such negative things that have happened the past year have also directed me to
