yoga in India

About 80% of India is Hindu and most of them are quaisi vegetarian or in some cases Vegan (Jains and Buddhists are subsets of Hinduism as is Sikhism -  Jains are pretty much vegan and Buddhists are a mixture of vegan/vegetarian or omnivore - depending on where they live and whether vegs are available/or their tradition)... Hindus - maybe 1,000,000 or more eat  pork and many eat mutton and many more eat chicken (maybe half of Hindus do)... Yoga is not practiced by that many here - except at yoga classes in big hotels and ashrams catering to the tourists. There they have authentic (ususally) gurus of Indian instructors... it is also at local gyms and parks and free at the parks like Lodi Gardens in Delhi. More Indians do jogging and running and walking and stretchin exercises and Prana Yama breathing exercises (based on Yoga)... More Indians practice authentic spiritual yoga than phsycial yoga - phsyical yoga is widespread in the west and India has done a brilliant marketing job here over the last 100 years! But they don't do much phsical yoga themselves.
