UNI-STRATEGIC SCREWED ME
only 2nd time by a client in all the years I have worked

Off to Jakarta, Indonesia to do a 2-day program on Innovation and Creative Thinking 4 years ago I worked with UNI-Strategic that marketed a 2-day Creative & Strategic Thinking Class of mine in 5 Asian cities.

3 were actually held in Jakarta, Singapore on Sentosa Island and Kuala Lumpur.

Small groups of very fun and interesting people from around Asia and a couple Middle Easterners UNI-Strategic still OWES ME 50% of my fee from all 3 programs. 4 Years Ago

Oh dearrrr. After so long???

John Yeo
Was there a contract???

A very long detailed contract that I had a local lawyer review and modify before signing.

50% of fee 1 week out
50% of fee within a month
all expenses paid directly
they did pay the initial expenses for all 3 programs in all 3 cities, but when I had to change airline tickets due to China Air's insistence that Indonesia required blank Passport pages with the word "VISA" on top and would not let me board their plane.

RESULTING UNNECESSARY COSTS TO ME

taxi in and out of SF
hotel in SF
taxi to and from Passport office
$300 fee at Passport office for insertion of 48 blank pages with the word "VISA" on top
taxi to airport
3 extra meals during the 24 hr delay
extra airplane tickets with Philippine Air
buying clothing due to luggage misplace/lost for 8 days

UNI-STRATEGIC reimbursed me about $600
and said all the rest was China Air's fault

add to that 3 x times 50% fee unpaid STILL

when I arrived in Indonesia the check in employee that the requirement for blank pages with the word "VISA" on top was bogus.

only true disaster from 40 years of traveling to 93 countries

2 time in 57 years that a client "SCREWED" me.

the 3rd time happened also in 2013.

John I have had clients who paid me many thousands of dollars on a verbal agreement or a handshake.

Contracts usually are a waste of time between two honest parties.

Some colleagues have said take them to court

Hmmm?

a primarily unknown American Speaker/Trainer
taking a successful Malaysian company to court
in Malaysia?

What might be a possible problem(s) with this situation?
