Is Training Truly USED after the trainer leaves?

Is Training Truly USED after the trainer leaves?

Over the years you have been doing your programs, sharing systems and tools  have you been doing any "follow-on" studies to discover how much the clients actually continue to use of them more months or hopefully years after you did the training?

I use to back in the 80s and 90s and unfortunately found that the systems were seldom used regularly after I drove away from the venue or the company headquarters heading home.

When I have returned to the areas or to work with the same clients I would find that some IDEAS, BITS OF WISDOM, seemed to have been accepted and were being used but rarely intentionally.

Found it frustrating but also common when talking with other speakers, trainers, consultants who specialize in the four basic topic areas I choose to focus on:

Creative Thinking
Leading
Communicating
Teaming

in the late 90s after nearly 20 years I chose to focus on being a SPEAKER DU JOUR what some NSA types call

EDUTRAINER or other catchy terms

putting a great deal of focus on making my programs whether 60/90 minute breakout or concurrent sessions up to my 40 hr Masters Degree courses or 5 to 10 day long training programs FUN and Educational.

Kept me busy for years

but seldom did clients truly want to CHANGE and LEARN in depth.

Some did fortunately like one clothing manufacturer, one mining company and a few police departments, but most never changed or integrated the content, systems, or tools.  Within a year to two they would bring in another speaker/trainer/consultant and put their people through the NEW systems and tools and usually NEVER truly integrate them into daily work-life.

But then when Management changed what the previous management had focused on learning and paying me to teach/train them was DROPPED in order to focus on the NEW MANAGERS' magic solution.

As a trainer, speaker, consultant is this what you experience?

Of course, how much of what anyone is taught from K to 12 or in college: bachelors, masters, or doctorate classrooms is truly used by the graduates in their normal lives?
