Creativity, Creative Thinking Development in 2018?
IS CREATIVITY REALLY DEAD?
or
have people begun to realize that it is often killed in their lives by:
parents, teachers, politicians, rulers/leaders, governments, employers, bosses.
My 33 years (NOW 40 years) in the field of the
DEVELOPMENT OF DELIBERATE CREATIVITY
has shown me that is more that people do not
SUPPORT,
PROMOTE,
RECOGNIZE/REWARD,
ENCOURAGE/EDUCATE,
APPLY/ACCEPT, or
DEVELOP
it more than it is DELIBERATELY, CONSCIOUSLY "KILLED"
What do you think?
Tim
Yes, it is never "killed"; it is just like the quieter sibling who gets neglected for the others who are screaming louder

interesting analogy...what are you and Aurora doing today for fun (ooops did you do for fun) forgot about the 13 hrs difference in time

From a very early age people are taught to CONFORM CONFORM CONFORM until they believe that creativity is a gift some people are born with, but most aren't. Their natural creative spirit is suppressed to the point, that they forget that creativity is a skill. The good news is that it is a skill that can be learned or relearned at any age.
PT
Creativity is never encouraged. Maybe this is due to lack of understanding of 1. what it is and 2. how to encourage it. Many people are boxed in and fearful of doing things differently. Requires a new mindset.

thank you Robert and Pat for your comments.

That was one of the primary conclusions of my dissertation (that the current incarnation of the school system stifles creativity by leaning to heavily on verbal thought). Beyond that, out in the world, creativity = change and can be threatening. *H...See More

does Google promote creativity throughout all of its employees any more than 3M has? 3M does not truly promote creativity among their total number employees. Most I have talked with over the past 12 years have seldom known what the "15% Rule" was.
